About the role
Based in our piano showroom, this role has just been created to support recent and anticipated growth in piano sales. You will work closely with our small but experienced piano consultant team based at our 75 Great South Road showroom to ensure customers receive excellent service and communication. As part of our product offering, you will also be assisting with our marketing and promotional advertising on TradeMe. There will be opportunities to get involved in general duties associated with both the showroom and our wider public offering such as piano-related events.
In this role you will be expected to:
Assist with processing and qualifying piano customers;
Deliver excellent after-sales assistance including co-ordinating deliveries and tuning;
Responsible for timely advertising of products on TradeMe;
Assist at piano related events.
You will work as part of a roster in order to cover our retail store hours of operation which includes weekend work. Any work required at events outside of your normal working hours will be paid in addition to your regular pay. Although the primary place of work is at our Newmarket location, you may also be required to work at our Great South Road (Remuera) location from time to time.
About you
To succeed in this varied role, you will be a confident and proactive communicator - you recognise the importance of maintaining an interpersonal style which fits with each individual customer both professionally and culturally. ‘You may have developed these skills in an environment other than sales and, if so, we will offer full sales and product training to set you up for success. You will bring strong piano playing abilities - we anticipate you will have already achieved Grace 8.
Your motivation and achievement orientation will be well rewarded! There will be a comprehensive training period based at Great South Road for the successful person and there are opportunities to earn commissions on sales.

As the exclusive Steinway NZ dealership, we are a growing company looking for a Piano Technician to join our team servicing instruments of professional pianists, venues, teachers, students and our music community in the beautiful setting of stunning New Zealand.
Your key attributes:
• Willing and able to build a loyal customer base, deliver excellent tuning and provide customers with piano appraisals as required.
• Able to uphold industry-level health and safety standards across all events and conduct staff training as and when appropriate.
• Capable of preparing written reports in relation to condition, future and preventative maintenance and replacement.
• Able to represent the Steinway brand to the highest possible level, including attending ongoing training and upskilling sessions, as well as assisting with Steinway sales at all levels.
• Have a minimum of 4 years of experience as a full-time piano tuner and technician. Steinway Academy training and Spirio training is desirable.
