Thank you for choosing to make music with Lewis Eady this year.

To our teachers for the inspiration they provide to us all on a daily basis – thank you.

To our partner schools and venues for allowing us to be part of their communities – thank you.

To our behind the scenes admin team for their efficiency and support which allows us all to do what we love to do (make music!) on a daily basis – thank you.

Happy Holidays!  We look forward to making more music with you in 2019.

🎄 IT’S ALMOST CHRISTMAS…

🔔 CHRISTMAS BELLS

There is music in every child.  The teacher’s job is to find it and nurture it.

MEET OUR TEACHERS

Here are two of our 2018 teachers.  We are very proud of our teaching team of more than 40! Each is a talented and committed musician who loves sharing their musical knowledge.  You’ll find a bio and photo of every teacher (returning faces and new faces) on the ‘Teachers’ page of our website.

Alyssa

Alyssa Renwick joined Lewis Eady in 2018 and teaches vocals at Lewis Eady Music School in Epsom, vocals and the choir at Westmere Primary. Originally from Scotland, Alyssa relocated to New Zealand at the end of 2017. She graduated with First Class Honours in 2015 and then went on to teach Vocals and Music Business to aspiring musicians at the Academy of Music and Sound, one of the UK’s leading popular music colleges. Alyssa has been involved in many musical productions and performances, as well as being a member of NYCOS (National Youth Choir of Scotland). She was also a recipient of the Rev Hammer songwriting award in 2015. Alyssa is well versed in most contemporary vocals styles and draws from her performance and songwriting experience in her teaching.

Peter

Peter Bayliss joined Lewis Eady in 2016 and teaches guitar, ukulele and bass guitar for us at Kowhai Intermediate and Bayfield Primary Schools.  Having worked extensively as a live musician, studio session guitarist, musical arranger/director since the 1960’s, and a teacher since the 2000’s, Peter now particularly enjoys sharing his experience and teaching students at all stages of playing - those new to guitar through to more advanced students seeking further refinement.  Peter currently plays in ‘The Brendon Ham Band’ and ‘Southern Cross Band’.  Over the years, Peter has played with many musicians including Sir Howard Morrison, John Rowles, Brendan Dugan, Al Hunter, Jodi Vaughn, Suzanne Prentice, Gray Bartlett and Rick Bryant.   As session guitarist/contract music arranger for TVNZ in the late 70’s and 80’s, Peter worked on shows as diverse as ‘The Ray Woolfe Show’, ‘Twelve Bar Rhythm and Shoes’ and ‘Stars on Sunday’.  Peter regularly works with other musicians - songwriting and recording and contributing his musical input to the lyrics of others.
