It only seems like yesterday we were hanging the bunting up and sound-checking our first guest artist back in 2017. We have learned a few things along the way and are just as excited to bring you our humble offering once again across Friday 9th and Saturday 10th July 2021. We will be cutting prices on everything guitar-related by 15%, bringing back our “Guess How Many Picks Are In The Pick Jar & Win A Guitar” competition, and hosting one of NZ's finest songwriters.
Lewis Eady is beyond ecstatic to announce a performance by the one and only Anthonie Tonnon at this year’s Guitarnival. A consummate performer who has honed his craft the world over on countless tours of his own design, Anthonie always pushes the envelope of what can be done within the sometimes-rigid confines of ‘rock’ show and an audience can always be sure that they will be seeing a performer of the highest calibre who is devoted to their art and its presentation.

With three APRA Silver Scroll nominations under his belt, his upcoming new album release is hotly anticipated. The album entitled Leave Love Out of This is being released one week after Guitarnival so we are extremely humbled to be hosting Anthonie for this one-off performance!
At Guitarnival ’21 Anthonie will be treating the audience to a new show that we have dubbed The Deconstruction Of… where he will break down a collection of his songs to a more fundamental state and take us behind the scenes of some of his most loved lyrics and stories. Anthonie’s compositions are often laced with arresting character studies or are expansive tales peppered with New Zealand history, so to see him reveal the inspiration or essence of some of these songs will be an intimate union between the audience and the songwriter not to be missed.
