Welcome to our new and returning students. With a record number of students enrolled with us this term, we are loving making music happen with you all across Auckland.
Kicking off 2020 lessons has been very rewarding particularly with our teaching team now highlighted by a group of teachers who started their musical journey with us as students and are now sharing what they learned with us and their love of music, as Lewis Eady teachers! We’ve profiled them below.
Thanks for choosing Lewis Eady as your musical partner this year.
Happy Music Making!

LEWIS EADY STUDENTS NOW LEWIS EADY TEACHERS
Campbell MacKenzie joined Lewis Eady in 2015 and teaches guitar and ukulele for us at Marist Primary and Lewis Eady (Great Sth Road, Epsom). A Lewis Eady “graduate” (starting lessons with us at the age of 6), Campbell has been one of our holiday programme tutors since 2015 and was a regular relieving guitar tutor in 2017. During his time at secondary school, Campbell was recognised as an emerging singer/songwriter, having been named as a finalist twice in the Play It Strange Songwriting Competition. He has also had success in the Auckland Solo/Duo category of SmokeFreeRockQuest (First Place, Musicianship Award and Best Song). Campbell now regularly makes appearances on the Auckland music scene performing his original music, and he is currently studying Popular Music at the University of Auckland.
Grace Kelly joined Lewis Eady Music School in 2020 and teaches vocals for us at Ponsonby Primary School. After four years of learning a variety of musical instruments and vocals at Lewis Eady and pursuing her own career as an artist, she decided to start teaching vocals this year. Grace has completed 2 Estill Vocal Courses, and uses many elements of that in her teaching, centring her teaching around the sustainability of the voice.
Grace has recorded on 3 occasions in Nashville, Tennessee. With a love of songwriting, she’s been able to record some of her own songs. One of her songs “San Jose” was used to market the city of its namesake, landing her the opportunity to open for Blake Shelton in San Jose 2019. She also opened for Tiki Taane in 2019. In California Grace was asked to sing with Liz Rose, an established songwriter based in Nashville who co-wrote many of Taylor Swift’s earlier music.
Adam Thorndyke joined Lewis Eady in 2018, and teaches guitar for us at our Epsom Studios. He is passionate about his music and helping others reach their musical goals through teaching and band mentoring. Adam holds a Grade 8 Electric Guitar qualification with the Trinity College of London, has completed his first year of his Bachelor of Contemporary Music degree at MAINZ in Auckland and is now continuing with a degree in Music Production at SAE. During his school years, Adam’s band won the Bandquest competition and he also represented his school in jazz competitions. He has played in his own band as the lead singer and guitarist, and also played with many other bands. Adam continues to write, compose and mix his own music in his home studio and also produces and mixes for other artists. He has recently released some songs which can be found on Spotify. Although Adam’s interest in music is broad (having written and produced music in House, Rap, Dance, Jazz and Blues genres), he mainly enjoys playing Rock.
Bianca Rocca joined Lewis Eady Music School in 2015 and teaches piano, Musical Jam, ukulele and keyboard for us at Te Oro Glen Innes, St Josephs Orakei and Hillsborough Primary Schools. Recently returned from working and teaching in Scotland and Europe, Bianca completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours) degree in 2017. Bianca began learning music at five with the inaugural Saturday morning Orff programme run by Linda Locke at the University of Auckland. She continued at Ponsonby Primary School learning recorder, ukulele and piano with Lewis Eady, later learning guitar and double bass. Bianca has played in jazz groups, orchestras and bands over the years in addition to writing and performing her own music. Bianca is keen on incorporating creativity in her lessons, and works to connect music with students other interests.
Kane Chong joined Lewis Eady Music School in 2020 and teaches Guitar for us at Remuera Intermediate. Kane’s relationship with Lewis Eady began when he was 11 years old and first attended our Rock School Holiday programme. Kane picked up guitar at the age of 8 and quickly found himself falling in love with music, playing all through intermediate and high school. Over the years Kane has also self-taught on piano, drums, timpani, bass, mandolin, ukulele, bass, and he sings too! Kane completed his Degree in Audio Production in 2018 and is currently working towards the completion of his Bachelor in Audio Production in 2020. In his spare time he writes and produces music by himself and with friends and fellow musicians (Jordan Luck and Mike Chunn included).
Christo Karadjov who joined Lewis Eady in 2016 teaches clarinet, saxophone and guitar at Lewis Eady Music School (Great South Road, Epsom). Christo started learning clarinet through Lewis Eady at the age of 10 and has achieved his LTCL diploma in clarinet performance. Christo has won scholarships and numerous awards in solo and chamber music competitions. He has years of experience performing in concerts as well as playing in many orchestras and bands. After graduating with a Bachelor of Music from the University of Auckland, he now works as an audio engineer and music producer in both radio and studio environments.
