JUST KEEP PLAYING
JUST KEEP PLAYING
Kia ora koutou katoa,
Welcome to Term 3! I hope you have enjoyed your well-deserved breaks and are looking forward to another energizing term of music-making.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank our small but mighty team of three (Cheryl, Elise, Gillian) in the Music School admin office, who work tirelessly to ensure the smooth delivery of music lessons to 1,000+ students each week. If you have any questions about your child’s music lessons, please email our dedicated team at musicschool@lewiseady.co.nz.
“Music is a gift from the depth of one person’s soul to another. It is the art of all things we cannot see nor touch. The teaching of music is important because, put simply, music is important.”
– Nicola Benedetti CBE, Grammy Award-winning violinist and music education advocate.
Thank you for choosing to make music with Lewis Eady Music School this year.

Lewis Eady Music School Manager
GREAT SOUTH ROAD STUDENT CONCERT
Congratulations to all students who performed at the Great South Road Student Concert on Sunday 27th June!
We were thoroughly impressed and inspired by your enthusiasm and willingness to participate. We hope you all enjoyed the experience and look forward to seeing many more students perform at the end-of-year concert in November.
Student concerts for those receiving music lessons at our partner schools will take place at their schools in Term 3 or Term 4.
IMPORTANT REMINDER
Partner School students: We can only process credits for lessons missed due to a school activity (e.g. school camp, sports day). Please email your child’s full name, name of the school, and the date of the missed lesson to musicschool@lewiseady.co.nz for the credit to be processed.
Great South Road students: If you are unable to attend your lesson in person for any reason, you are welcome to nominate another person (adult, child, friend, etc) to attend the lesson in your place! Please email the name of the person you nominate to musicschool@lewiseady.co.nz at least 24 hours before your lesson day.
TO EXAM OR NOT TO EXAM?
We encourage all students* to be presented for examination when they are ready. Last month, we chatted to the National Administration Manager of the New Zealand Music Examinations Board (NZMEB), to provide a holistic insight into Aotearoa's very own music examinations board.
*Your child must have been receiving individual lessons with us for at least one whole year (i.e. four terms) before the planned examination.
TUTOR SPOTLIGHT
Kingsley Tang has been teaching piano at our Great South Road studios since 2015, maintains a career in finance, and is also dad to a gorgeous 9-month-old daughter!
