Sylvia Jiang is a young pianist from New Zealand currently studying at the Juilliard School with Mr Robert McDonald. She began her piano studies at the age of four with Mr Qu Yong, and was under his tutelage until she began her studies at Juilliard in 2014. Over the years, she has won numerous top prizes at national and international level competitions including the Wallace National Piano Competition, and the Hastings, Lev Vlassenko, Kerikeri, and Pusaka International Piano Competitions.
As an avid performer, Sylvia has given recitals in New Zealand, Australia, Indonesia, Canada, Korea and the United States. Her performances have been featured on TV3, ABC Australia, Radio New Zealand Concert, Maori Television, and other notable news networks and publications. For the 2018 summer season, Sylvia has been selected as a fellow at Music Academy of the West.
